Our Terms and Conditions of Sale
We recognise that buying a new office chair represents a major investment on your part and we wish to ensure that you are highly satisfied with the service you receive from us and delighted with your purchase. Therefore, to avoid misunderstandings between us, we detail here our main terms and conditions of sale.
1. All prices illustrated on this site exclude Value Added Tax (VAT). Prices shown on our Secure Order Form for online purchases include both VAT and UK carriage. VAT at the prevailing rate, currently 15%, will be added to all invoices for sales within the EC unless the purchaser is able to provide a current and valid tax registration number for their tax registered business in their own country. Sales for export beyond the EC will be invoiced excluding VAT.
2. We are not responsible for any import or other taxes or duties that may be imposed by the authorities in your own country at the time of importation, or following importation.
3. Errors or Omissions in the pricing shown on the site are expected. Prices are only binding on both parties at the time a firm order has been placed by the purchaser and an invoice has been issued by the seller. Notwithstanding this, purchasers of ’stock’ chairs have the right to cancel orders within 7 days of receipt. Special orders placed for chairs to your personal specification cannot be cancelled without penalty. All products are subject to availability.
4. All invoices will be priced in Pounds Sterling (£). Any estimations of exchange rates given are not binding and do not form part of any subsequent contract.
5. All invoices must be settled in full before goods are dispatched. Orders from UK Government and educational establishments may be submitted on an official Purchase Order. UK-based plcs and corporate clients may either apply for credit facilities or may pay in advance of dispatch against a Pro-forma invoice.
6. Corrigo Design shall retain ownership of all goods until such time as all accounts owing have been settled in full.
7. Goods supplied by us shall be at the purchaser’s risk immediately on delivery to the purchaser or into custody on the purchaser’s behalf (whichever is the sooner) and the purchaser shall therefore be insured appropriately or adequately. Title and property in the goods supplied under this contract shall pass to the purchaser to any other party or parties any sums due to or received by the purchaser by such sales shall be deemed to be held by the purchaser in trust for us.
8. We will use our best endeavours to deliver promptly, but we shall be under no liability whatsoever for delay in estimated delivery times or failure to deliver from any cause, not for any loss or damage arising therefrom.
7. Guarantees offered with chairs are manufacturer’s guarantees and requests for repairs to be completed under guarantee are to be submitted, in the first instance, to the manufacturer. Any guarantees offered do not affect the purchaser’s statutory rights. The Manufacturer will undertake to expedite any guarantee work required during the first 12 months following purchase.
8. Orders cannot be cancelled except on terms which will indemnify us against all loss. We reserve the right not to supply any order at our discretion.
9. We reserve the right to modify the designs and specifications without prior notification.
10. Recommended maximum weight for swivel chairs using gas assisted height adjustment in nineteen stone (120kg). Chairs for heavier users can be supplied to order.
11. Payment shall be made to us at the time and in the manner stated in our quotation or if no such time and manner are stated then within 30 days following the date of our notice. In all cases the prices we quoted are strictly net. I the event of non payment within these terms, we reserve the right to charge in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debt (interest) Act 1988, plus a minimum of £50 compensation on late payments.
12. With certain ’stock’ chairs we may offer a 7-day ‘buy and try’ sale or return period for customers in the UK – if you are not entirely happy within the 7-day period just let us know and, providing the chair is returned in original condition and in its original packing, we will accept the chair back and provide a refund. The purchaser is, however, responsible for paying the return carriage charge, currently £35 per chair. With chairs ordered to your personal specification, or for clients outside of the UK, we generally cannot offer a trial period and can only take chairs back and provide a full refund in the event of a significant fault. In the unlikely event of you having any cause for complaint with either our service or our products we guarantee to fully investigate your complaint and reply to you within 10 days of notification.
9. All contracts between Corrigo Design and the purchaser are considered to have been made in England and English Law shall apply to all transactions made with Corrigo Design or with employees acting on its behalf.
10. Any information or personal data provided to Corrigo Design or any of its subsidiaries will remain totally confidential and will not be passed to any third party or used for marketing purposes without the express permission of the customer.
11. All third party trademarks and copyrights are duly acknowledged and reserved.
12. These Terms and Conditions do not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
