EPILEPSY TRAINING SESSION – Central London, for just £25 per person

Corrigo Design are sponsoring an Accredited Epilepsy Training course.

As part of the extension of your care for your colleagues, Corrigo have arranged for an Accredited Epilepsy trainer to cover the following topics:

What Epilepsy Is
Basic Epilepsy Statistics
Seizures and Seizure Types
Diagnosis and Treatment of Epilepsy
First Aid for Seizures
The Social Impact of Epilepsy and Living with the Condition

The Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) requires employers to carry out risk assessments for those with epilepsy. This is to identify any possible safety risks to your colleagues in the workplace. The course will therefore cover what adjustments are needed to make the workplace safer for those with the condition. As every person suffers from epilepsy differently, you will learn how to assess the risks to health and safety at work for each individual affected.

Who is it for: Anyone wishing to learn more about Epilepsy in the workplace
Where: The training will take just 2 hours and will be in Farringdon, London, EC2
When: Wednesday 29th February at 10.30am
Cost: For just a small registration charge of £25 + VAT, you can secure your place for this training. Spaces are limited, so reserve your place today by emailing us at info@corrigochairs.com -see below:

The invitation is open to your colleagues, so do please pass this on to those who would also benefit. If you are interested but unable to make this date, do still let us know as we will be arrange further training sessions, on both Epilepsy and other workplace issues.

‘Having had issues with my back, neck and shoulders, I can confidently say that these chairs are a better design than any I have tried and used over the last 15 + years:

The support feels great.
They are comfortable.
The armrests are adjustable to what we need in terms of moving our pc mouse to the left or to the right, the arm support simply rotates in the direction you go to ensure the support is always there.

My chair I requested has a headrest so that it would prompt me to keep my head up so to speak.

The lumbar support is also good and it is fully adjustable in all the right areas.

The one to one assesment provided is vital and makes all the difference in choosing the right chair for you and indeed setting you up once they have been delivered.’

Corrigo Chairs LLP. cares that their website is accessible to all and welcomes visitors of all races, religions and abilities.

This page is to give you information on what aids this website offers for people with a disability. It also explains how the WC3 Accessibility Guidelines I.O and 2.O have been implemented on this site.

Using this website

For those screen reader and non-mouse users, please use the ‘jump’ menus provided n to skip straight to the content, navigation and/or site map

Please use the text variations provided;

‘Standard text’ will provide a 12px equivalent version on most browsers and hide accessibility elements

‘Large text’ will provide a 24px equivalent version on most browsers and hide accessibility elements

‘Easy Read’ will provide a low simple contrast version, using standard text size on a pale yellow background to aid legibility which is often helpful for users with dyslexia

‘No Style’ will strip off all our styles and provide a plain text, linear version

‘Non-Standard Mobile’ will provide a slim line version with ‘jump’ links for mobile phones who are not using Internet Explorer or Safari mobile browsers

To resize the text without our help:

In Internet Explorer: View > Text size > Largest

In Firefox: View > Text size > Increase

In Opera: File > Preferences > Fonts > Minimum font size (pixels)

Alternatively, scroll with the wheel of your mouse whilst holding down the control key.

To use the keyboard instead of the mouse;

Use the Tab key to move and browse amongst the menus and links.

Pressing ‘Enter’ is the same as clicking a mouse

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move up or down the page or from left to right.

All images contain an ALT tag unless decorative, where they are marked as empty.

Links make sense out of context. Wherever possible, title tags have also been used to expand on their meaning.

Drop down menu bar are sometimes used. Please select a category and click (or press ‘Enter’) on the option you wish to view. If your system does not support drop-down menus, please use the site map link for quick and easy browsing

Most of our site have ‘breadcrumbs’ on the top of each page which allow you to retrace your steps and go back to where you started. However, older sites may not have this facility so you may need to use the ‘Back’ button on your browser. Back button are usually on the top left hand corner of your browser. By simply clicking on this button you can retrace your steps through the pages you have already viewed on our website. Some keyboards also have a Back Button as part of their options.

General Accessibility.

This website conforms to the WCAG 2.0 four principles of accessibility and so is: perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust

The original designers, access-bydesign.com have considered the full range of techniques, including the advisory techniques, as well as to seeking relevant advice about current best practice to ensure that this web content is accessible, as far as possible, to all communities.

This website has been thoroughly tested on multiple browsers, platforms and devices

This website has been tested using multiple automated accessibility testing software

This website has been tested by a REAL person with a disability who tested the website and submitted a report to the original designers who then used it to improve accessibility further.

Web Standards

All CSS and XHTML created by Access – by Design validate to the document type.

Validation does not equal accessibility.

If a page on this website does not validate it is almost always because a third-party ‘plug-in’ has needed to be employed. Although try to use only accessible third-parties and we alert designers to accessibility issues, rectifying them is beyond our control

We reserve the right to use the web standards CSS and XHML buttons on this website as all elements within our control validate correctly.

Please Note: Access – by Design websites are run by their owners. Although we train our clients on web accessibility, they are not designers and sometimes mistakes can happen. If you find a accessibility error, please alert Access – by Design - info@access-bydesign – as soon as possible, telling us the name of the website and the nature of the problem so that we can fix it.

Further Help

You may wish to download “Browsealoud”. This is FREE speech reader that enables you to listen rather than read our website. Browsealoud may be helpful to people with dyslexia, those who find reading difficult, those who have a mild visual imapairment of those who just like to do more than one thing at a time!

Accessibility Problems?

This website may have the following minor access problems/issues. These are explained here and alternatives given.

This site does not use meta access keys (sometimes called ‘hot keys’). Our research suggest that these are actually detrimental to most keyboard-users as they already have their own keys set up which are then overwritten or confused by websites (who do not use a consistent approach). We will review this decision periodically and if research proves otherwise (or technology improves) we will resume these techniques.

This site may fail validation on third-party technologies. This is because we have little or no ability to recode these to meet our high accessibly standards. However, we always aim to use plug-ins that are either accessible, increase the accessibility or have simple accessible alternatives. If forced to choose between accessibility features and validation, we have taken the difficult decision to always choose accessibility.

What are these terms?

These e-commerce terms and conditions (the “Conditions”) are the basis on which Corrigo Design LLP, (company registered no. OC322921) of 6-8 Underwood Street, London N1 7JQ, United Kingdom (the “Company”) agrees to sell to you (the “Customer”) office chairs and other related articles which the Customer agrees to buy from the Company (the “Goods”) via www.corrigochairs.com (the “Website”) and by buying Goods on this Website the Customer agrees to these Conditions to the exclusion of all others.

The Company recognises that buying a new office chair represents a major investment on the Customer’s part and the Company wishes to ensure that the Customer is highly satisfied with the Goods the Customer receives from the Company and the Customer is delighted with their purchase. Therefore, to avoid misunderstandings between the Company and the Customer, we detail here the Company’s main e-commerce terms and conditions of sale.

Before the Customer places an order for Goods, if the Customer has any questions relating to these Conditions please contact the Company’s Sales team by email, or call the Company on 0870 896 5266 between 9am-6pm Mon through Friday.

1. Conditions

1.1 These Conditions shall form the basis of the contract between the Company and the Customer in relation to the sale of Goods and any related assembly services to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions including any standard conditions of purchase or any other conditions which the Customer may purport to apply under any purchase order or confirmation of order or any other document.

1.2 All orders for Goods shall be deemed to be an offer by the Customer to purchase Goods from the Company pursuant to these Conditions.

1.3 Acceptance of delivery of the Goods shall be deemed to be conclusive evidence of the Customer’s confirmation of acceptance of these Conditions.

1.4 These Conditions may not be varied except by the written agreement of a Director of the Company.

2. Description of Goods

2.1 The Company highly recommends that the Customer orders a sample of the relevant fabric for the Goods they intend to order before ordering the Goods.

2.2 Each of the Goods purchased by the Customer from the Company is sold subject to its description of the Goods set out on the Website, and all Goods shall be as set out and described in the Company’s order confirmation. The Company will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of Goods appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although the Company aims to keep the website as up to date as possible, the information may not always reflect the position at the exact moment the Customer places an order.

2.3 The Customer will be responsible for ensuring that their selection of Goods is accurate at the time of purchase. The Company will not be responsible for any errors made by the Customer in the selection of Goods or mistakes made by the Customer on their order. If a mistake is made on the Customer’s order, please notify the Company as soon as possible.

3.3 The Company may use information the Customer provides or which is obtained by the Company about the Customer:

in order to provide the Customer with the highest quality customer  service;

for the prevention and detection of fraud.

6.3. All other warranties including those implied by law in relation to the Goods are hereby disclaimed.

7. Delivery of Goods and Any Related Assembly Services

7.1 The date of delivery of the Goods and carrying out of any related assembly services specified by the Company is an estimate only and time of delivery shall not be of the essence of the contract. The Company shall not be liable to the Customer for any loss or damages whether arising directly or indirectly by any delay in the delivery of the Goods or any related assembly services.

7.2 Delivery of the Goods shall be made to the Customer’s address as provided by the Customer in the relevant order made via the Website. The Customer shall make all arrangements necessary to take delivery of the Goods on the day notified by the Company for delivery.

7.3 The Customer must notify the Company in advance of any special delivery instructions which are required to enable the delivery company to successful deliver the Goods. The Company will not be responsible for failed deliveries.

7.4 When the Company and the Customer agree on a date to carry out any assembly services relating to the Goods (fitting and assembly) on site, the Customer shall make all arrangements necessary to be available to the Company at the agreed time and place.

7.5 The Customer will give the Company 24 hours notice of any change in the prior delivery arrangements. If the Company is not notified in time to any change to the delivery arrangements all reasonable costs for time and travel will be met by the Customer.

7.6 The Company can assemble the products for the Customer only at time of initial delivery, within the UK, providing this service is requested at the time of ordering the relevant Goods and at any additional cost stipulated in the order.
8.2 Without prejudice to clause 9 below, the Company may offer a 14 day ‘buy and try’ sale or return period for Customers in the UK – if the Customer is not entirely happy with the Goods within the 14 day period just let the Company know and, providing the Goods are returned in original condition and in its original packing, the Company will accept the Goods back and provide a refund of the purchase price for the relevant Goods to the Customer. The Customer is, however, responsible for paying the return carriage charge, currently £25 per unit of the Goods. With Goods ordered by Customers outside the UK, the Company generally cannot offer such a trial period and can only take the Goods back and provide a full refund in the event of a significant fault other than a fault caused by the Customer themselves. In the unlikely event of the Customer having any cause for complaint with either the Company’s customer service or the Goods the Company guarantees to fully investigate the complaint and reply to the Customer within 10 days of notification.

8.3 The Customer will need to contact the Company to arrange for the Company’s courier service to deliver the item back to the Company at the Customer’s own cost. Please note the Customer will be responsible for the Goods until the Company can confirm receipt at the Company’s premises.

8.4 In some instances the Company may be able to arrange collection for a collection charge.

8.5 Refunds in accordance with this clause 8 will be made within 14 days of receipt of the returned Goods, subject to them being in re-saleable condition. All refunds are subject to inspection of the Goods and confirmation that the items have been returned according to this refunds policy above. The Company will usually refund any money received from the Customer using the same method originally used by the Customer to pay for your purchase.

9. Cancellation Rights

9.1 The Customer should note that the Customer should retain all packaging for the Goods which must be returned if cancelling an order. The Customer must use the Company’s courier service for returning Goods at the Customer’s cost, unless agreed otherwise by the Company.

9.2 Notwithstanding and subject to the refunds policy above and cancellation rights (if applicable) below), purchasers of ‘stock’ Goods will have the right to cancel orders within 24 hours of placing the order for the relevant Goods.

9.3 In the event that the Customer acts as a consumer as defined in the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, the Customer has the consumer right to cancel any order for Goods placed on the Website from the date of the order until the end of seven working days from the day after the Goods are received by the Customer, for a full refund. This may only be done by the Customer sending an e-mail to the Company at any time after the Customer’s relevant order up to the end of that period, quoting “Cancellation” in the subject heading, and including the Customer’s email address, name, contact details, order number, and stating that the Customer wishes to cancel the relevant order. Cancellations received after this statutory cancellation period won’t be valid. If the order has already been despatched to the Customer at the time of such cancellation, any such cancellation will only be valid if the Customer then returns the relevant Goods to the Company within 28 days in such a way as to preserve the relevant Goods in the same condition as they were received by the Customer.

9.4 The Customer should note carefully that special bespoke orders placed for Goods to be made to the Customer’s personal specification cannot be returned for a refund or cancelled in accordance with the above Conditions in any circumstances.

9.5 The above cancellation right applies only to consumer Customers and not to business Customers.

10. Faulty Goods

10.1 The Customer should note that the Customer should retain all packaging for the Goods which must be returned if returning faulty Goods. The Customer must use the Company’s courier service for returning faulty Goods at the Customer’s cost, unless agreed otherwise by the Company.

10.2 If for any reason you feel the item you have received is faulty please contact us as soon as possible to let us know that the item has a fault. Once the fault is identified we will ask you to return the item and provide a replacement. In the event that a replacement is unavailable (whether it be due to a discontinuation or end of line clearance) we will either replace it with a similar product or provide a full refund. If you are returning an item because it is faulty we will reimburse your return costs once we have inspected and confirmed the item has a fault.

10.3 If you wish to make a return, you must contact us to arrange collection. Please note that you must retain the original packaging, without which we will be unable to collect it.

11. Title and Risk

11.1 Subject to clause 11.3. below, all risk in the Goods shall pass to the Customer on delivery of the Goods to the Customer’s address.

11.2 Notwithstanding the earlier passing of risk referred to above, the title in the Goods shall remain with the Company and shall not pass to the Customer until the amount due under the invoice for them (including interest and costs) has been paid in full.

11.3 The Company shall retain ownership of all Goods until such time as all accounts owing have been settled in full.

12. Intellectual Property

12.1 All intellectual property rights including copyright, design right, patents, trade marks, now how and any other intellectual property rights whether registered or unregistered anywhere in the world in the Goods are and will be retained by the Company and nothing in these Conditions or otherwise will assign or otherwise transfer to the Customer any such intellectual property rights.

13. Force Majeure

13.1 The Company shall not be liable to the Customer if the performance of any of its obligations is delayed or prevented by any matter outside the Company’s reasonable control. Such matters include, but are not limited to, fire, flood, lightening, extreme weather conditions, acts of terrorism or vandalism, industrial disputes of any kind, actions of local or national government, war, power surges.

14. Limitation of Liability

14.1 Nothing in this Agreement shall limit or exclude your or our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (ii) under section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979, section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, or section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987; (iii) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iv) for any matter for which it would be illegal for to limit or exclude, or attempt to limit or exclude, liability.

14.2 Subject to this: (i) our liability in connection with any Goods or related assembly services purchased through this Website is strictly limited to the higher of the purchase price of the relevant Product or Service and the replacement cost of the relevant Goods or related assembly services; (ii) we accept no liability for any loss of income or revenue, loss of business, loss of profits or contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, waste of management or office time or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind however arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable; and (iii) we will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under this Agreement caused by events outside our reasonable control.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

The only solution is to have the desk raised to the correct height – there are now some very simple options on the market which can raise the height of your existing desk.
